A few weeks ago, the whole fam traveled down to St. Louis to celebrate one of our favorite couples’ 25th wedding anniversary. Since we don’t get to see each other all that often, we spent some time hanging out together the rest of the weekend. On Saturday, we went to see the new Peanuts movie together (of course). On Sunday, the weather was perfect and we had the chance to visit one of my favorite zoos – The St. Louis Zoo…only the best free zoo around.

Seriously though, if you ever get a chance to visit, you should. One, because it’s free. Two, because the animals are so close to you that you could touch them. No really…they are. They also have a super cool train that will take you around on a tour as well as a carousel which is always a hit with the littles.

All Augie wanted to see at the zoo was the penguins. He definitely got his chance! Although they weren’t the first exhibit we saw (which is what he wanted to do), I think seeing them in such an up close and personal kind of matter really made up for it!

Of course, we road the carousel and the choo choo. Basically we just spent a majority of time wandering around looking at animals and enjoying the glorious fall weather.

I really do love fall. It’s the best.

Although our time together is always short, I always enjoy it and wish that it could last just a tad longer. It’s so nice to see our kids be together. Way back 25 years ago, Lois and Donny were driving us around and playing with us because we were the littles. Now, we drive their kids around and their kids entertain our kids.

I really hope it won’t be too long before we see the Dodson Family again. Miss them already! XOXO <3 <3
