This is probably one of the easiest recipes that I make. Of course, you could just make regular hot dogs…but what fun is that? I had an epiphany one night and I realized that hot dogs would taste much better if they were rolled up into crescent rolls. I am sure I’m not the first person to do this (let’s be honest) but, I wanted to share the recipe with you none the less because sometimes when you are cooking lactose free it’s hard to think of easy meals to make – especially for kids!
1 Package Turkey Hot Dogs
2 Packages Crescent Rolls (I use reduced fat)
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut your hot dogs in half and place one on the big end of the crescent roll. Roll up the crescent just like you would normally and place it on an un-greased cookie sheet. Repeat until you are out of crescent rolls.
Bake hot dogs for about 9-12 minutes or until the crescent roll is golden brown.
Pretty easy…and delicious. I like to serve mine with vegetables to make it seem a little healthier than it actually is. I mean, the turkey hot dogs and reduced fat crescent rolls do help with that as well, but you might as well make this comfort food a little more healthy if you can :). Right?
