When we moved into our “forever house” there were a few things on our wish list that needed improvement. The top of Matt’s wish list was getting rid of the rusty, crooked basketball hoop in our driveway and replacing it with a brand-spankin-new one. It took us a few years, but we are finally in the process of bringing his wish to a reality!

Thankfully, Uncle Tom came over and helped Matt with the first stage, so the hole digging and the concrete pouring is complete!

Matt tried to have Augie put his handprint in the cement, but by the time we got around to it it was too dry. Instead, we opted for writing our name and the year. I am a little sad that we won’t have Aug’s tiny hand plastered in our driveway for years to come so we can remember how small he once was, but it’s a good runner up if I had to choose one.

I am crossing my fingers that the hoop gets up this weekend so we can play some Horse…or rather some “Mattanddeanne” like we used to play in college. Good times!
